Fire Inspection Scammer Arrested

” Authorities arrested a man who scammed Santa Barbara County businesses with false invoices for fire inspection services that were not actually performed.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office announced on September 1 that it arrested Robert Musich in Pomona for allegedly duping 834 California victims.  Musich was arrested on suspicion of 11 felony counts, including 10 counts of forgery and one count of grand theft, amounting to more than $200,000 in losses.

The Santa Barbara County and Ontario Fire Departments, Pomona, Cal Poly Pomona, West Covina and Lake Havasu Police Departments, Nevada State Attorney General’s Office and the United States Postal Inspector assisted the DA’s investigation.

Musich faces a maximum of 11 years, eight months in state prison.  He is currently at the Pomona City Jail and will remain there until he can be transferred to the Los Angeles County Jail and then to the Santa Barbara County Jail.  No arraignment date has been set at this point.”
